Job Description:
Shine Kitchen Cabinets Ltd., a leader in custom kitchen and furniture manufacturing based in Surrey, BC, is currently hiring a skilled and experienced Furniture Carpenter. We are known for delivering top-quality cabinetry and furniture solutions for both residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, creative, and capable of building customized wood furniture pieces from scratch with precision and craftsmanship.
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and wood substitutes
- Construct and install custom furniture, cabinets, countertops, and other wood fixtures
- Operate woodworking machines such as saws, routers, planers, and sanders
- Apply finishing techniques like sanding, staining, and varnishing
- Inspect and repair damaged wood products or components
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
- Collaborate with designers, installers, and clients to fulfill project needs
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in furniture or cabinet carpentry
- Proficiency in using hand tools and woodworking machines
- Strong understanding of wood types, joints, and finishes
- Ability to follow technical drawings and blueprints
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Attention to detail and a passion for craftsmanship
