Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father will not be granted U.S. visa for UFC 229

Remember Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who Conor McGregor called a “quivering coward” at the UFC 229 press conference earlier this month?

Well, he won’t be showing up to UFC 229 on Oct. 6 after all.

According to a recent report by RT.com, Abdulmanap will not be granted a visa to travel into the United States. Nurmagomedov took part in an interview process in Istanbul to acquire his visa, but revealed to a Russian news agency, TASS, that he was unsuccessful in his attempt. Apparently Abdulmanap needs to provide more information to obtain his visa but will not have enough time to do so before UFC 229 next weekend in Las Vegas.

Looks like Dana White and President Donald Trump couldn’t get a deal done.

This seems to be the norm when dealing with the elder “Eagle.” Remember, Nurmagomedov was denied his visa last year for Khabib’s UFC 209 clash with Tony Ferguson. Khabib never made it to that fight after being hospitalized for weight cut issues, but you get the idea; Abdulmanap is a hard man to bring overseas.

Needless to say, Khabib isn’t going to perform any different without his father in attendance for UFC 229. Just like he wouldn’t perform any different if he was there. That’s because Khabib has proven to be an unbreakable force both inside of the cage and out of it. His preparation, execution, and success isn’t going to change by this news.

That said, I’m sure McGregor will be happy enough to use this information to belittle Khabib at the second UFC 229 press conference next week in Las Vegas.
