5 Spoilers you need to know from RAW and SmackDown Live

Disclaimer: At the very outset, if you would not like to have the results for RAW and SmackDown Live spoiled in advance, I would recommend that you do not read any further. Both shows were taped so that WWE superstars get to spend the holidays with their families.

One tends to forget that behind the glitz and the glamour, each one of them is a human being. And because of their gruelling schedule, they often miss out on important family moments.

That said, I know that you may not have the chance to watch RAW and SmackDown Live this week either, because of the Holidays. I’ve identified and brought you the five most important points from what transpired on this week’s show. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of the action.

Neither show had something super important happen, truth be told. We have to check out the Christmas edition of both shows to find out how these results translate on screen. Here are 5 spoilers you need to know:-

#5 Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya to retain the RAW Women’s Championship

Last week, ended with a huge 8-woman Gauntlet match to determine who would face Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship next. Natalya eventually stood tall at the end of the match. The show closed with the two best friends hugging it out in the middle of the ring, ahead of the title match.

I did not see a title change coming anyway. But the spoilers confirm my initial assessment that Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya. One wonders if this will lead to a heel turn, in the weeks that follow.

Ronda Rousey matches are always special. I’m anxious to see this match when it finally airs on RAW

#4 Mustafa Ali’s victorious streak continued

Last week, Mustafa Ali teamed up with AJ Styles to take on Daniel Bryan and Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas in the main event. Much to the surprise of everyone in the arena, Ali went on to pin Bryan. Yes, a superstar from 205 Live had just pinned the current WWE Champion.

This week, Ali took on Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas in a singles match. And Mustafa Ali emerged victorious in this match as well. It is clear that he is being given a push of a lifetime, and primed to be one of the bigger stars in the blue brand, going forward.

Could Mustafa Ali become the WWE Champion himself in due course of time? From the way things are going for him, I would think that he could. He is being set up to be one of SmackDown Live’s top babyfaces.

#3 Finn Balor defeated Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre

Somewhere, WWE has realised that babyfaces have to be booked in a strong manner. Finn Balorhas always been a top guy, but never the top guy. He took on Ziggler and McIntyre in a triple threat match, this week. This stemmed from the match that took place at TLC.

Ziggler interfered in the match between Balor and McIntyre, costing the Scottish Psychopath at the end.

This would lead to a backstage confrontation between Ziggler and Balor, with the latter claiming he did not need Ziggler’s assistance to win.

And this set up the big triple threat match for the Christmas edition of RAW. Knowing how good the three men involved are, I’m certain that this match may have potentially stolen the show.

This is a match that you guys need to certainly check out.

#2 Gable and Roode defeated The Revival to retain their titles

The Revival earned a chance to take on Gable and Roode in a Tag Team match for the titles, on the previous episode of RAW.

The two men have been favourites of the WWE Universe since NXT, and fans believed that they deserved a shot at the titles. Dash and Dawson did certainly put on some great matches in NXT.

I do not know how this match played out on RAW, but I’m guessing that considering all four men are so gifted, it was quite a solid affair. Gable and Roode stood tall at the end of the night. They are still your RAW Tag Team Champions.

I am guessing it’s only a matter of time before The Revival get their hands on the prize. But for now, the future will be absolutely…GLORIOUS!

#1 Rusev is your new WWE United States Champion

Believe it or not, one title change did happen on this week’s show. Rusev defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become your brand new United States Champion. This title change has been a long time coming for the Bulgarian Brute. He could do wonders with the title, in coming weeks.

Nakamura is a phenomenally gifted WWE superstar. Unfortunately, his title reign did not play out, because of WWE’s inability to understand his extremely eccentric character. But under Rusev’s reign, this title could soar to new heights.

While I have revealed five of the match results to you, I do recommend that you check out both shows because there’s a lot that I have not revealed yet. Yes, quite a few pieces are falling into place, ahead of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Merry Christmas to all you lovely folks!
