Indeed, even Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran, was astonished at the disclosure, trusting the result to at first be a joke.
“When I got to the [Dragonpit scene] in the last scene and they’re similar to, ‘Shouldn’t something be said about Bran?’ I needed to get up and walk about the room,” he told EW. “I really thought it was a joke content and that [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] sent to everybody content with their own character winds up on the Iron Throne. ‘No doubt, great one folks. Gracious s**t, it’s in reality genuine?'”
The on-screen character proceeded to state he was “cheerful” with the result, including: “However I sort of wanted to kick the bucket and get in one great demise scene with a detonating head or something.”
The Independent’s pundit called the finale “misconstrued and hammy”, and scrutinized the scene for “lacking enthusiastic goals”. Emilia Clarke, whose character Daenerys at long last died amid the scene, has said: “it was a f***ing battle perusing the contents” yet that the character’s last minutes were “dealt with… it’s a delightful and contacting finishing”.
